Adopt a Kitty: Let them become your feline couch potato

The TEARS Animal Rescue Cattery needs help: It is at capacity, with many beautiful, vibrant kittens (under 4 months), juveniles (4–12 months) and adult cats that deserve to feel loved, cherished and safe!

Small kittens are in highest demand, so as cats get older, it gets harder to find them loving homes. The juveniles, who are ostensibly older kittens, need homes, and are at the perfect age and size to slot into a family. Juveniles are ready to fit in with children, other cats or cat-friendly dogs, or just to keep the humans company. They are full of life, love and endless potential, and deserve to know and feel the warmth of a loving family.

Now is the perfect time for a playful and affectionate addition to your family! With some of the cats being bonded pairs, why not consider adding two couch potato friends to your family? The juveniles up for adoption have spent their first few months with TEARS and have had to grow up without knowing how it feels to be a part of a family where they can really belong.

With the cattery capacity levels at a bursting point, adopting a cat will save two lives: the cat you adopt and another at-risk cat that fills the space your cat leaves at TEARS.

Homeless cats are at risk of exposure due to extreme weather conditions and a lack of shelter. They are also at risk of starvation and associated risks such as motor vehicle accidents while they scavenge the streets. With the weather changing, these cats deserve a chance to get out of the cold to safety.

They will get sterilised by TEARS’ veterinary team and will no longer be part of the seemingly endless breeding cycle. These cats will be the lucky ones, so help us save these fur babies by adopting and not shopping!

Ready to meet your new furry friend? Visit TEARS Cattery and see for yourself the incredible personalities waiting to find their forever homes. You can help give these sweet souls the life they’ve always deserved.

The TEARS adoption process includes three simple steps: completing the online Adoption Application; visiting TEARS to meet-your-match (or matches); and completing a home check so you become the official pet parent to your new four- (or even three-) legged best friend!

For those who cannot adopt, financial donations or donating pre-loved items to the TEARS Thrift Shops help fund the costs in keeping the TEARS Veterinary Hospital and Mobile Clinics, kennels and cattery open and running.
