Online festive shopping on the rise
Research commissioned by Amazon and conducted through four consumer polls on BusinessTech.co.za throughout November revealed South African festive shoppers are increasingly embracing online shopping.
The poll also revealed that South Africans tend to shop late in the season – and while a quarter (24%) plan to start their festive shopping in early December, 30% identify as last-minute shoppers.
Price emerged as the top consideration when shopping online with 57% of the votes, underscoring the importance of competitive deals during the holiday period. In fact, when seeking gifting inspiration, 46% scan online stores for deals on items from their wish list.
